During Folk Week there are daily dance displays around the town, as well as parades on the first Saturday and final Friday.

Whitby is renowned for its wide variety of workshops, many of which are a progressive series through the week, for example Singing in Harmony, Playford for All, and Festival Orchestra.

There are many opportunities to learn new styles of dance, or take up an instrument, as well as sessions aimed at experienced dancers and musicians.
With so many wonderful artists to choose from there is a full programme of daily concerts, talks, interviews and presentations, as well as ceilidhs and dances every evening in the spacious Whitby Pavillion.
